“Being Positive, No Matter What…”

Interns Monitoring Committee, VSPM Dental College & Research Centre, Nagpur has organized a Webinar on “Being Positive, No Matter What…”on 10th March 2021 for Interns and newly joined First BDS Students. The program was conducted on zoom platform and was streamed live on college YouTube Channel. More than 190 participants attended the program.

After Virtual Lamp lighting, Dr. Surekha Rathod, Chairperson, Interns Monitoring Committee delivered the Welcome Address. She has suggested all the participants to build up tolerance to move ahead in life during this Covid-19 Pandemic situation. Dr. S. R. Shenoi, Vice Dean, VSPMDCRC, Nagpur talked about the day to day life problems which makes people negative. He insisted to stay cool, safe and follow all Covid-19 guidelines for everyone’s safety. Dr. Usha Radke, Dean, VSPM DCRC, Nagpur congratulate all the Interns for successfully excelling in Final BDS Examination and Welcome all Fresher First BDS students. She has motivated all the students to take this situation also as an opportunity to develop good qualities and move in the right direction in life with a positive attitude.

Dr. Jaishree Chahande, Lecturer, Department of Prosthodontics introduced the Moderator, Dr. Rajashri Kolte, Professor, PG & PHD Guide, Department of Periodontics and Implantology.  Dr. Rajashri Kolte has introduced the Guest Speaker and beautifully conducted the Virtual session and motivated all the participants to develop a positive outlook for life in spite of ups and downs in life.

Dr. Manoj Matnani, MD (Consultant Pediatric Nephrologist) KEM Hospital, Pune, was the Guest Speaker. Dr. Manoj Matnani describes in detail about ‘Regain the positivity’.  He has explained the ‘Mindfulness concept’ and asks everyone to ‘Practice to be in the present moment.’  He described the difference between ‘Positive thoughts’ (static energy) and ‘Feelings’ (dynamic energy). He insisted to, ‘Think positive, feel positive and then move onto being positive.’ He defined the word ‘Positive’ with the meaning of all the alphabets with relevant examples of everyone’s life. He has conducted a small online meditation session for the calm, peaceful mind and to develop the positive attitude in the current situation.

e- Certificate of Appreciation was delivered to the Speaker and Moderator by Dr. Surekha Rathod. Dr. Jaishree Chahande, Member of Interns Monitoring Committee conducted the proceedings of the program smoothly and proposed the Vote of thanks. Dr. Sangita Bhattacharya, Member secretary of the committee and all the committee members contributed to the success of the program.
