The e-lecture on Social Media and Gender Related Issues was conducted by Gender Harrasment and Equity Committee and a renowned Psychologist and Psychotherapist of Nagpur Ms. AnupamaGadkari was invited guest speaker for the event. Dr. PranjaliBawankar, member secretary GHEC, was the master of the ceremony and the event commenced with the welcome of the dignitaries. Dr. ChetanaMakade, chairperson GHC, delivered the welcome address which was followed by speech by Dean Dr. UshaRadke. Dr. PratimaShenoi, HOD Dept. Conservative and Endodontics, moderated the session. Ms. Gadkari highlighted the landscape of Social Media, and how it can be used for promotion of Gender equality. It imbibed the idea that it is essential to examine gendered online behavior in social media, checking opportunities for enacting traditional gender stereotypes and socializing the equality between sexes in all aspects of social life.
The lecture received overwhelming response from 75 participants which included the faculty, Undergraduate and Post graduate students. The lecture concluded with a question answer session and the e-certificates were presentedto the speaker and the moderator at the end of the session. The session was concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Jaya Joshi, member GHEC.
