Violence Against Women And Girls E-Poster Competition For Undergraduate And Interns

On the occasion of National Girl Child Day Gender Equity and Anti-Harrassment Committee conducted a webinar on Violence against Women and Girls on 24th Jan 2022. Programe conducted online on Zoom Platform. The guest speaker for the event was Dr. Alka Mukherjee, President Nagpur Obstetrics and Gynecological Society, Secretary to Human Rights Activist and Certified National trainer VAWG.
Dr. Pranjali Bawankar, Member Secretary of GEAHC, was the master of the ceremony and the event commenced with the welcome of the dignitaries. Dr. Chetana Makade, chairperson GHC, delivered the welcome address which was followed by speech by Vice-Dean. Dr. S R Shenoi, Dean Dr. Usha Radke. Dr. Vrinda Kolte, Professor & PG Guide, Department of Oral and maxillofacial sugery was the moderator for the session. She introducted the guest speaker Dr. Alka Mukherjee.
The speaker highlighted various types of violence prevalent in society and suggested various modes to tackle and fight against it. She focused on the constitutional rights of Women in India, Different gender stereotypes, how to help the survivors and the different gender inequalities prevalent in Indian Society. The lecture received overwhelming response from the faculty members, non-teaching staff, interns and Post graduate students. The lecture concluded with a question answer session and the e-certificates were presented to the speaker and the moderator at the end of the session
An e-poster Competition was organized by the GEAHC on the occasion of National Girl Child Day for the undergraduate students and interns which received an overwhelming response from the students. The winners of the e-poster competition were declared at the end of the webinar. The session was concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Sujoy Banerjee and the names of the winners were announced and e-certificates were presented to them.
