On occasion of world tobacco day, the Departments of Oral Medicine & Radiology and Public Health Dentistry at Ranjeet Deshmukh Dental College, in collaboration with the American Oncology Institute, conducted a sensitization programme for 52 ASHA workers from MIDC, Hingna, on May 28, 2024. Held at the PRIDE Hall, the event aimed to prepare ASHA workers to identify precancerous and cancerous lesions during home visits. Lectures by Dr. Mangesh Patil (Oncosurgeon) and Dr. Rucha Pandharipande (Senior Lecturer) emphasized early detection and referrals. The programme, inaugurated by Dr. Abhay Kolte, concluded with speaker felicitations and a vote of thanks, aligning with World No Tobacco Day observance.
