Admission 2024-25The department of Pedodontics and preventive dentistry, VSPM DCRC, Nagpur, Maharashtra celebrated children’s week from 14th November 2019 till 28th November 2019.
On this occasion, we had scheduled various events starting from 14th – to 29th November 2019 filled with fun and awareness for oral health of children.
A dental campaign, consisting of free basic treatment for children visiting the college was organized for one week. Dr. Devendra Nagpal, Professor and head of the department of Pedodontics conducted an awareness program demonstrating the good and bad food habits making children aware about what can make their teeth sound and healthy. This was followed by a game in which the kids had to put a give food item in good food and bad food boxes.
Other activities during this period included a drawing competition for children visiting the department of pediatric and preventive dentistry, VSPMDCRC. Various games with oral health as theme were organized followed by prize distribution. All the children enjoyed and actively participated in the games.
A Nukkad Natak based on parental perspective of treatment and importance of primary teeth was performed by the post-graduates and the interns of VSPM DC RC at various public gardens in Nagpur city.
A school dental camp was conducted at a zilla parishad school Nildoh, Nagpur. Screening for dental diseases was done by team of post graduate students and interns under the guidance of Dr Purva Chaudhari associate professor of the department. The camp concluded with a dental health awareness lecture in which oral hygiene methods were demonstrated to the children.
The activities were appreciated by the Dean of the college, Dr. Usha Radke and she congratulated the department for organizing the same.
The entire program was coordinated by Head of the Department Dr. Devendra Nagpal, Dr. Gagandeep Lamba and Dr. Purva Chaudhari, associate professors and Dr. Kavita Hotwani, Dr. Prabhat Singh, and Dr Sargam Sortey Assistant professors, Dept of pediatric and preventive dentistry, VSPM dental college and research center Nagpur.
