On the occasion of World Prosthodontist Day 22 January 2022 Department of Prosthodontics in association with Indian Prosthodontic Society Nagpur Branch had organized following events
Panel discussion on the topic- ‘Full Arch Implant Reconstruction’ by Dr Pravin Sundarkar (Immediate Past President IPS Ng Br), Dr Tushar Mowade (Assoc. Prof. Dept of Prosthodontics, VSPMDCRC, Nagpur), Dr Anuj Chandak (Assoc. Prof. Dept of Prosthodontics, VSPMDCRC, Nagpur) and moderated by Dr Rahul Tekale (Assist. Prof. Dept of Prosthodontics, VSPMDCRC, Nagpur). Dr Saee Deshmukh (Assoc. Prof. Dept of Prosthodontics, VSPMDCRC, Nagpur) co-ordinated the event.
A webinar by Dr Rajesh Sethuraman (Prof and Head, Dept of Prosthodontics, KM Shah Dental College, Vadodara) on the topic ‘Balanced occlusion’ on 20th January Thursday at 10-11 am.via zoom online platform. It was moderated by Dr Sham Gundawar- Ex Professor VSPMDCRC, Nagpur. Dr Samidha Pande (Assist. Prof. Dept of Prosthodontics, VSPMDCRC, Nagpur) co-ordinated the event.
A webinar by Dr Jay Matani (Prosthodontist and Implantologist) on the topic ‘Surgical considerations in Implants in esthetic zone’ on 21st January Friday at 11-12 am.via zoom online platform. It was moderated by Dr Yogesh Ingole- Assoc prof, Dept of Prosthodontics, GDC & H, Nagpur. Dr Akhil Rathi (Assist. Prof. Dept of Prosthodontics, VSPMDCRC, Nagpur) co-ordinated the event.
A webinar by Dr Hrashwardhan Arya- President IPS Nagpur Br on the topic of Treatment Planning for Full Arch Implant Reconstructions at 10 am-11am via zoom online platform. It was moderated by Dr Neelam Pande- Prof. Dept of Prosthodontics, VSPMDCRC, Nagpur. Dr Rajlakshmi Banerjee (Assoc. Prof. Dept of Prosthodontics, VSPMDCRC, Nagpur) co-ordinated the event.

Various competitions including Debate competition on the topic- ‘Balanced Occlusion: Myth or Reality’ for PG students on 19th Jan 2022 via zoom online platform at 1-3 pm, ‘Clinical case presentation competition’ for PGs and Panel discussion on ‘Full Arch Implant Reconstruction’ on 18th Jan 2022 9 am-1 pm, Reel making competition for UGs and PGs on the topic of ‘Prosthodontic Awareness in society’ co-ordinated by Dr Priti Jaiswal (Assist. Prof. Dept of Prosthodontics, VSPMDCRC, Nagpur), Creative carving competition for dental Technicians co-ordinated by Dr Ojas Gajbhiye (Assist. Prof. Dept of Prosthodontics, VSPMDCRC, Nagpur) and Creative writing competition for non-teaching staff on the topic of ‘Reflections during working in Prosthodontics Dept’ co-ordinated by Dr Jaya Joshi (Assist. Prof. Dept of Prosthodontics, VSPMDCRC, Nagpur) were held. Dr Jaishree Chahande and Dr Anita Kahar and all PGs of the Dept of Prosthodontics, VSPMDCRC worked hard for the success of this event. Valedictory ceremony for weeklong competitions was held on 22nd January 2022 at 11am in presence of Dr Jangala Hari (Secretary IPS HO), Dr Usha Radke (Dean and HOD Dept of Prosthodontics, VSPMDCRC, Nagpur), Dr Harshwardhan Arya (President IPS Ng Br), Dr Saee Deshmukh (Secretary IPS Ng Br), Dr Yogesh Ingole (Treasurer, IPS Ng Br) and Dr Rajlakshmi Banerjee (Editor, IPS Ng Br). Public awareness articles regarding the prosthodontic specialty as well as role of prosthodontist in post-mucormycosis rehabilitation were published in local daily.
