A collaborative team from Ranjeet Deshmukh Dental College and Research Centre, Nagpur and G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur has won the 1st prize of Rs. 1 Lakh at the Health Hackathon held at VIT Bhopal, in association with Johns Hopkins University, USA bringing together some of the brightest minds in healthcare and technology on 18th and 19th February, 2025.
Dr. Palak Kasliwal, a Medical Expert, Final year Postgraduate student, Guided by Dr. Surekha Rathod, Professor, Ph.D. & P.G. Guide, Department of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry, Ranjeet Deshmukh Dental College and Research Centre, Nagpur played a vital role as a key member of the team, contributing her expertise in oral health. The team’s winning project focused on ‘Developing a Portable Device for the Screening of Oral Submucous Fibrosis’ by the successful collaboration between the medical expertise of Dr. Palak Kasliwal and the engineering skills from G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering led to the development of this innovative solution. Their project impressed the judges and demonstrated the power of interdisciplinary teamwork in advancing healthcare technology.
