The Tobacco Cessation Cell (TCC) of the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology (OMR) at RDDCRC organized an online “De-Addiction Training Module” for interns on 21st (level-1) and 22nd (level-2) April 2025. The event commenced with an inaugural address by Dr. Mukta Motwani, HOD of OMR and Clinical Vice Dean, emphasizing the significance of tobacco de-addiction. Dr. Dinesh Jagiasi and Dr. Ratandeep Chawla from Lifefirst – Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation, Mumbai, led the sessions. Day 1 covered topics such as tobacco use, its effects, and motivational counseling techniques. Day 2 focused on pharmacotherapy and practical counseling strategies using the 5As and 5Rs approach. A pre-test assessed baseline knowledge, and a post-test evaluated learning outcomes. The event was coordinated by Dr. Tapasya Karemore, hosted by Dr. Archita Patel, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Zareesh Akhtar. A total of 70 interns participated in this enriching workshop.
