Title: Management of TMDs
The department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, RD DCRC, Nagpur organised “a Two day add on course on Management of TMDs” on 20th & 21st March 2025.
This course was in continuation to the course on “demystifying TMDs” held in April last year.
Dr. Sunita Shrivastav, Ex Dean Examination, Ex professor & Head dept of Orthodontics SPDC, WARDHA was the facilitator for the course.
The inauguration was attended by Dean Dr. Abhay Kolte along with HODs of various departments. The course was attended by participants including staff, interns & Pgs of various dental specialities. The program started at 8:30 am sharp. The speaker recapitulated the anatomy of the TMJ discussed in the previous module held in April 2024.
The participants discussed the various screening protocols for TMD. The clinical diagnostic protocol was revised and the management of TMDs was discussed in detail in the post-lunch session. Various guidelines for management, team work required for management of TMD, referral system for TMD and the role of splints was discussed on the second day. Madam also gave a hands- on demonstration on the clinical examination for TMD cases which reported to the dept.
The faculty patiently answered all the questions from the participants at the end of the session. The event concluded at 5 pm on 21st March, with positive reviews from the participants about the speaker, course content as well as the arrangements made by the host department with a request for more such events in the future.
