Mega Dental Check Up & Treatment Camp Chief Minister Camp, Sevagram
22/07/2025
The Department of Public Health Dentistry at Ranjeet Deshmukh Dental College and Research Centre, Nagpur, organized a Mega Dental Check-up Camp on 22nd July 2025 at Sevagram Wardha organized by CM office, Government of Maharashtra. The camp was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sudhir Rawlani with the active participation of a dedicated team of dental professionals and interns. The primary objective of the camp was to promote oral health awareness, conduct dental screenings, and provide preventive care to the school’s students and staff. During the entire day event, a total of 552 individuals were screened for various dental conditions such as dental caries, periodontal diseases, and other oral health issues. The clinical team provided on-site oral health education and preventive advice. Those found to be in need of further dental care were referred to Ranjeet Deshmukh Dental College, Nagpur, for comprehensive follow-up treatment.

The camp also served as a platform to highlight the importance of oral health in school children. Oral health is integral to a child’s overall physical and mental development. Good oral hygiene not only supports proper nutrition and speech but also plays a vital role in boosting a child’s confidence and academic performance. Conversely, untreated dental problems can lead to pain, difficulty in eating, absenteeism, and poor classroom concentration. Early intervention through school-based programs like this helps inculcate healthy oral hygiene habits, enabling children to enjoy better health outcomes as they grow. The Mega Dental Camp was well-received and appreciated by the organizers. It contributed significantly to improving oral health awareness and provided much-needed services to the community. The Department of Public Health Dentistry remains committed to continuing such outreach programs in the future to foster better oral and general health among the younger population.
