Admission 2024-25Environmental sustainability practices are extremely important especially in healthcare field. VSPM Dental College and Research Centre, Nagpur signed an MoU with Swachha Association-Nagpur (an NGO) for providing deployment of various strategies for sustainable development taking care of our environment. By doing so the college is one of the very few in the region who have given importance to this vital area. A special committee on Environmental sustainability was set up by Dean Dr. Usha Radke, including member secretary Dr. Jayashree Joshi, Dr. Saee Deshpande, and Dr. Pranjali Bawankar-Nakhate.
The committee organized an awareness lecture by Mr Sharad Paliwal (Secretary- Swachha Assoc) who explained that safe disposal of hospital waste, careful use and recycling of dental materials are the key areas to work upon. Mr Paliwal gave many suggestions so as to make a stride towards inclusive progress taking into account nature around us. Dr Usha Radke encouraged the students to give novel suggestions to be adopted in future as well as reduce their energy consumptions and be cautious regarding waste generation. The college is working upon setting up a biogas plant on waste generated at the campus for energy production in future.
