CDE on TMDs (Temporomandibular Disorders) on 30th August 2019

The temporomandibular joint is the joint that connects your jaw to the skull. The disorders of the Temporomandibular joint have a multifactorial aetiology and occurs as a result of problems with the opening and closing of the jaw and the surrounding facial structures. To name a few reasons it includes injury to the teeth or jaw, malalignment of the teeth or jaw, teeth grinding or clenching, poor posture, stress, arthritis, and gum chewing. There were lectures on anatomy, diagnosis, and treatment modalities in relation to TMJ.

The panel consisted of Dr. Saee Deshmukh, Dr. Tushar Mowade and Dr. Akhil Rathi from the department of prosthodontics; Dr. Harkare from ENT department, Dr. Kshitij Bang, Oral, and Maxillofacial surgeon & Dr. Anurag Chaudhari from Oral medicine, Diagnosis, and radiology. Under the able guidance of Dean Dr. Usha Radke the CDE had conducted successfully. The event had delegates from in and outside the college and had a great response.
