The Anganwadi workers being the primary persons to come in contact with children and the expecting mothers, The team of dentists headed by Dr Devendra Nagpal Professor & Head of Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry organized awareness lecture for anganwadi workers on 7th December 2022 at VSPM DCRC Nagpur.
Dr Purva Chaudhari Associate Professor, Dept of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry conducted a fun quiz for the audience. Dr Gagandeep Lamba Associate Professor , Dept of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry introduced an oral hygiene kit developed by the dept which will help ease the access to standardized oral hygiene products for the rural population. Dr. Pooja Rathi Assistant Professor, Dept of Paediatric Dentistry conducted a lecture on ‘Importance of oral health of children’ in Marathi language. Another lecture with photos showcasing different departments of the hospital and various treatment modalities was also shown to promote treatment seeking behaviour by Dr Swapnil Patil Assistant Professor, Dept of Public health dentistry . 30 anganwadi workers attended the program. This lecture was a part of the Anganwadi based project named ‘Anmol Muskan’ started by the department in 2020.
