A CDE program – Panel discussion for young dental professionals was organised by Dept. of Oral Pathology & Microbiology, RDDC & RC, Nagpur in collaboration with No Tobacco Association, Nagpur on 25/06/25. The panellists – Dr. Vinay Hazarey and Dr. Sushil Gawande gave their expertise on the topic “Combating Addiction of Nicotine and Narcotics (CANN)” and shared their experience. Dr. Hazarey shared advocacy to tackle Nicotine emphasising on MPOWER (WHO policy), Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act 2019, Juvenile Justice Act and Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985 and ill-effects of Nicotine. Dr. Gawande discussed on Narcotics, its hazards, mechanism of action of Narcotic drugs and “No touch policy” was explained. Oath “Say No to Drugs and Yes to Life” was administered to young dental professionals and were sensitized about their social responsibility.
