The Maharashtra State Chapter of AOMSI in collaboration with Ranjeet Deshmukh Dental College and Research Centre, Nagpur hosted the one day CME on disorders of TMJ- “All About TMJ” on 20/08/2023.

The one day CME comprised of various lectures and panel discussion on all aspects of TMJ.

Dr. Ramakrishna Shenoi, Vice- Dean and Head of Dept of oral and maxillofacial surgery at RDDCRC, welcome the delegates and spoke about the needs for such CME.

Dr. Usha Radke, Dean at RDDCRC, in her address spoke on the multidisciplinary approach for TMJ disorder.

The lecture began with Dr. Abhilasha Yadav, Asso. Prof at MGIMS, who spoke on the Surgical Anatomy of Temporomandibular Joint. Dr. Vrinda Kolte, Professor at RDDCRC, shed light on Surgical Approaches to the jaw joint. Dr. Tapasya Karemore, Asso. Prof in the Dept. of Oral Medicine, diagnosis and Radiology at RDDCRC, enlightened the audience on Imaging for Temporomandibular Joint Disorder. Dr. Mukul Padhye, Dean at DY Patil Dental College, Navi Mumbai , gave an online talk on arthroscopic surgery for Temporomandibular Joint. Dr. Abhay Datarkar, Dean of GDC, Nagpur spoke on Orthomorphic Surgery procedures for post TMJ Ankylosis release asymmetry of a face. Dr. Nitin Bhola. Prof and Head at SPDC, Sawangi, Wardha, addressed the gathering on the topic what makes TMJ and its deformities so unique. Dr. Sonal Anchlia, Prof and Head at GDC, Ahmedabad gave an insight on holistic approach on TMJ ankylosis

The panel discussion which was moderated by Dr. Kshitij Bang and Dr. Nilima Budhraja discussed the various management aspects of temporomandibular joint disorder. The panellist were Dr. Pravin Lambade, Prof and Head at RR Kambe dental college, Akola, Dr. Varsha Manekar, Asso. Prof at GDC, Nagpur, Dr. K. Rajnikanth, Head at SPDC and Dr. Pranav Ingole, Asso Prof at RDDCRC
