As part of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of VSPM Dental College and Research Centre, Nagpur, the Silver Jubilee Scientific committee in coordination with the Department of Prosthodontics organized two webinars as a part of the ‘E- Alumnivista 2021’ with the theme ‘By the Alumni, For the Alumni’. The webinar series by the Dept of Prosthodontics was inaugurated at the hands of a renowned Prosthodontist Dr Harshwardhan Arya, in the esteemed presence of Dean and Organizing Chairman, Siver Jubilee Celebrations committee, Dr. Usha Radke, Vice Dean, Dr. S.R Shenoi and Silver Jubilee Scientific Committee Chairman, Dr. Pratima Shenoi on 29th May 2021. The MOC for the inaugural ceremony and Coordinator for the webinar series was Scientific Committee representative for the Department of Prosthodontics, Dr. Rajlakshmi Banerjee. The inauguration ceremony was also presided over by the Secretary, Silver Jubilee Celebrations Committee, Dr. Gagandeep Lamba and the members of Silver Jubilee Scientific Committee, Dr. Chetana Makade and Dr. Mohit Gunwal.
The highlight of the inaugural ceremony was the unveiling of the ‘Star of Prostho Alumni Galaxy’, Dr. Saee Deshpande, who has brought many laurels to the institution, as an Alumna as well as a Faculty in the Department of Prosthodontics. The speakers and moderators of both the sessions were alumni of VSPM DCRC. Both the webinars had huge participation from the alumni and present students and interns. The topics of deliberation were contemporary topics providing deep insight into clinical techniques of Implantology. The initiative was very much appreciated by the delegates. VSPM DCRC is organizing yearlong curricular and extra-curricular programmes commemorating the Silver Jubilee Celebrations.
The First Webinar on “Implants– Basics and Beyond”was conducted on 29th May 2021 at 10:30.am.The lecture extensively covered Diagnosis, Treatment planning, Different treatment options with implants and in-depth case discussions with a multitude of factors discussed for successful implant supported prostheses. Dr Mohsin Quazi (MDS, Prosthodontics),the Speaker, a very distinguished Alumnus of the institution and currently leading a successful practice in Implants and Prosthodontics was happy to be a part of the initiative and pledged his full-fledged support to the institution for all future endeavours too. The session was moderated well and with an interactive session at the end of the lecture by Dr. Anuj Chandak who is also an Alumnus of the institution and presently working as an Associate Professor in the Dept of Prosthodontics. More than 400 participants have watched it Live on Facebook.
