The Intercollegiate Debate Competition – SHABD, was held on the 1st Oct. 2024, at Pride Hall. The event brought together students from various colleges to engage in a thought-provoking discussion on the ethical and practical implications of financial compensation for organ donors. The topic aimed to address whether such a solution could alleviate the global organ shortage while considering ethical boundaries. Participants delivered well-researched arguments, representing both sides of the issue. The competition witnessed compelling points on the balance between incentivizing donors and maintaining ethical standards in healthcare. The debate not only provided a platform for students to develop critical thinking but also highlighted the complexities surrounding organ donation policies.
