International Day of Older Persons was celebrated by organizing a week-long activities from 1 st -8 th October 2024 in the Department of Prosthodontics, Ranjeet Deshmukh Dental College and Research Centre Nagpur. All the elderly patients who have been treated in the department of prosthodontics RDDC RC Nagpur were invited to attend the program.

Various camps were organised in the month of August and September and 1 st week of October on this occasion. On 4 th October, HOD, Dr. Neelam Pande made an introductory remark to the patients about the program. Then patient awareness skit was performed by 2 nd BDS Students, organized by Dr. Anita Kahar. The skit was followed by cake cutting ceremony.

On 5 th October slogan writing competition was conducted for 1 st MDS students organized by Dr. Saee Deshmukh and Dr. Kalyani Deshmukh and for Interns organized by Dr. Jaishree Chahande.

On 8 th October 2024, Dean, Dr. Abhay Kolte delivered a speech and motivate all students for treating elderly patients with special care. A patient awareness lecture was conducted on ‘Aging with Dignity: Dental Perspective’ by Dr. Jaishree Chahande emphasizing on oral healthcare importance in elderly patients. Dean. Dr. Abhay Kolte release patient’s testimonial video clip treated by 2 nd and 3 rd year PG students and guided by Dr. Saee Deshmukh.

A book titled: ‘Geriatric fuel enhancing age in geriatric patients’ authored by Dr. Ojas Gajbhiye was released by the hands of Respected Dean, Dr. Abhay Kolte. Patient awareness flyer was also released by the hands of Dean, which was created by Dr. Jaishree Chahande and Interns.

All winners of slogan competition and Speaker were felicitated by Dean, Dr. Abhay Kolte and HOD, Dr. Neelam Pande. The program was concluded with Vote of thanks.
