The sealant programme aimed to protect children from tooth decay by providing pit and fissure sealant treatments, raising awareness about the importance of preventive dental care, and encouraging healthier oral habits within the community. The primary focus was on children aged 6-14 years from rural ZP schools of Chandrapur district. The programme was coordinated by District Coordinator/DOHO Dr. Sandeep Pipare and College Coordinator, Dr. Devendra Nagpal (HOD and Professor) and executed by Senior lecturers Dr. Ayushi Gurharikar and Dr. Samrudhi Khondalay and postgraduate students from the Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, under the able guidance of Dr. Abhay Kolte Dean, Ranjeet Deshmukh Dental College and Research Centre, Nagpur.A total of 384 children from 12 schools were treated, with 717 teeth were sealed, providing long-term protection against dental caries. Apart from sealant application children were also educated regarding oral hygiene maintenance and prevention and early treatment of dental caries.
