Virtual Panel Discussion Gender Related Issues At Workplace

The Virtual Panel Discussion on Gender related issues at workplace was conducted on 11/06/2021 by Gender Harrasment and Equity Committee. The Panelist for the event was Dr. Pritam Chandak, Mrs. Meera Kadbe, Mrs. Padma Chandekar. The staff representative was Dr. Mohit Gunwal. The Students Representative was Miss. Sanjana Agrawal and the Non-Teaching Staff Representative was Mrs. Anjana Madavi. Dr. Pranjali Bawankar, member secretary GHEC, was the master of the ceremony and the event commenced with the welcome of the dignitaries. Dr. Chetana Makade, chairperson GHC, delivered the welcome address which was followed by speech by Vice-Dean. Dr. S R Shenoi, Dean Dr. Usha Radke. Dr. Sujoy Banerjee moderated the Panel discussion. All the Panelist highlighted the importance of social and gender equality and different ways of combating gender related issues at workplace.

Dr. Pritam Chandak being a renowned Psychologist highlighted the psychological aspects related to gender equity. He also answered question related to mental disturbances caused due to gender inequality and different ways to overcome it.

Mrs. Meera Kadbe who was a renowned Social worker answered the questions related to the forums and the authorities to be approached for reporting the gender related issues at workplaces. She also enlightened about the social dogma related to the gender inequality persisting in the society and the different ways to overcome it.

Mrs. Padma Chandekar replied to the legal approaches and the existing laws and legislature which is concerned dealing with the gender related problems and issues that may arise at workplace. She also made the audience aware of the legislative approaches and the rights of the individuals when facing gender inequality at workplace. The representatives asked the questions one by one to the concerned Panelists which were duly answered by the Panelists.

The program received overwhelming response from viewers from Facebook which included the faculty, interns and Post graduate students. The e-certificates were presented to the Panelist and the moderator at the end of the session. The session concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Jaya Joshi, member GHEC.
