On occasion of World No Tobacco Day 31 st May 2024, Dept. of Oral Pathology & Microbiology organised various activities for students and interns for spreading awareness about the hazards of tobacco. The activities conducted were Slogan competition for Interns; Lecture on “Ill-effects of Tobacco” for I BDS students; PowerPoint presentations by Interns for III BDS students and a Rally in association with Student Council for Tobacco hazards awareness in the college campus. The winners of slogan competition were Dhananjay Nagulkar – 1 st Prize and Sejal Mujariya – 2 nd prize, felicitated by the hands of Respected Dean, Dr. Abhay Kolte. Dr. Neena Dongre (Lecturer, Dept. of Oral Pathology & Microbiology, RDDC&RC, Nagpur) was the speaker, where she delivered a lecture for I BDS emphasising on the Theme of World No Tobacco Day 2024 – Protecting children from tobacco industry interference. PowerPoint presentations on “Tobacco-induced Oral lesions & systemic changes” were excellently presented by Interns – Ms. Vaishnavi Solanke & Ms. Soundarya Somsetwar for III BDS students. Teaching staff, interns and students participated in the Tobacco hazards awareness rally, flagged off by Dean from the main entrance of college and made the event a success.
