Department Of Conservative Dentistry And Endodontics, V.S.P.M Dental College And Research Centre,Nagpur, in association with Indian Association and Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics conducted various activates to mark the National “Restorative and Root Canal Awareness week”, from 1st March 2019 to 6th March 2019.
On 1st , 2nd and 3rd March dental awareness programme and check up camp were organized at various schools with the notion of increasing the awareness and also providing donations for the underprivileged. Jai Mata High School, Dighori Nagpur, Dr. Rajesh Kubde and Dr Chetana Makade demonstrated students the measures for caries control measures. In all 150 students were screened for their treatment need Dr Vandana Kokane, Dr.Gautam Badole, Dr.Rajive Khode guided the students for necessary treatment required for restoring and retaining their natural dentition.
The other awareness dental camp was conducted in government school bhim nagar, near CRPF Camp. A team of specialitsts visited the school. Dr.Deepika Chandok addressed teachers and students regarding awareness and importance of good oral health and management of tooth avulsion injuries. In all 15 teachers and 100 students participated in interactive section conducted by Dr.Mohit Gunwal, Dr.Snehal Sonarkar, Dr.Manjusha Pradhan, Dr.Varsha Uttarwar and Dr.Vidya Mokhade.
On 5th 2019 a “Walkathon” was organized from VSPMDCRC campus. 160 staff members ,students,and interns participated in this event. The event was followed by Eye donation Awareness programme in association with Department of Ophthalmology, NKPSIMS, Nagpur.In all 33 persons were registered as eye donar on this occasion.
A poster competition was organized on 5th march for students. The theme for the competition was: Smile. In all 30 students participated and best poster was awarded prizes. DR Usha Radke ,Dean VSPMDCRC,Nagpur judged the competition and distributed the award. A talk was given by Head department of conservative dentistry and endodontics, Dr.Pratima Shenoi on importance and need of celebrating the conservative and endodontics week. For interns e-Star class V Glass ionomer restoration competition was organized and competition was judged by Dr. Ashiwin Chute (MDS) a leading clinician form Nagpur. He conducted a talk on clinical practice management and also presented student with awards.
On 6th The programme was concluded by “ Tree plantation”programme lead by Dr Pratima Shenoi, Management of VSPM AHE ,Dr.Usha Radk Dean, Dr S.R Shenoi Vice Dean ,Dr. Pratima Shenoi HOD , all staff members and students worked hard for making these series of events successful.
