Admission 2024-25International day of older person was celebrated on 1st October 2019, in the Department of Prosthodontics VSPM, DCRC, Nagpur, in collaboration with IPS Nagpur Branch.
As a result of the advances made in medicine and public health measures in the last half of the 20th century, the proportion of older people continues to grow worldwide, especially in developing countries. This, along with an increase in the prevalence of oral disease and non-communicable diseases, will significantly challenge health and social policy planners. The implementation of comprehensive preventive dentistry protocols for elders presents the dental profession with many challenges.
On this occasion Guest lectures of Dr. Apeksha Balpande, Professor, Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology, VSPM DCRC, was organized titled “ Importance of bone mineral density in geriatric patients” & Dr. Smriti Jagdhari, Sr. Lecturer, Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology, VSPM DCRC, talked on “ Role of vitamins in geriatric patients”. It was appreciated by all the under-graduate & Post-graduate students.
