Admission 2024-25Department of Prosthodontics and Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at VSPM dental college and Research Centre had organized programme on “Prosthetic and Surgical implication in geriatric patient” on the occasion of International day of older person on 1st October 2018.
Oral health is not separate from general health, but maintaining oral health is definitely difficult and different in old age. Even though, few elderly have physical and mental situation that call for particular interest in the dental workplace. In order to achieve health, it is necessary to know few aspects of old age. Thus, planning treatment for the senior dental patient includes an understanding of the chronic disease the patient lives with daily, as this play a critical role in acceptance and success of the dental treatment plans.
Dr. Rajlakshmi Banerjee from Department of Prosthodontics told the Prosthodontic consideration in geriatric patient and Dr. Neelam Pande urged the patients to take proper nutrition in their older age. Dr. Pranav Ingole and Dr. Nilima Buddharaja told the surgical consideration in geriatric patients.
