Department of prosthodontics and crown and bridge at VSPM Dental college and Research Centre had organized Programme on Occlusion, TMD and role of dentist on 12/01/18.
The relationship between Dental occlusion and temporomandibular disorders (TMD) is still a controversial topic in dentistry. These disorder affects the temporomandibular joints (TMJ), the jaw muscles and/or the related structures. To understand this controversy, Dr Prafulla Thumati was given a lecture on how occlusion affects TMD. He told details about treatment plan also in such cases. The event grabbed attention of around 50 students and also faculties. Dr Akhil Rathi, Dr Jaishree Chahande and all post graduate students made event successful with enthusiastic participants.
