Oral Hygiene Day

Oral Hygiene Day is observed every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of one of the legends of dental fraternity, the founder of Indian Society of Periodontology, Dr. G.B Shankwalkar. The motive behind this is the spread of awareness and knowledge regarding the importance of maintenance of oral hygiene and its systemic influences. With the similar convention it was organized at VSPM Dental College and Research Centre, Nagpur on 1stof August 2019 by Department of Periodontics and Implantology in association with Indian Society of Periodontology.  Sponsored by Listerine lecture series this program was witnessed by a huge number of audience. Around 238  undergraduate students and the departmental staff attended the program. The master of ceremony for the program was Dr. Resham Pakhmode, Post graduate student, Department of Periodontics and Implantology, VSPM DCRC.

The program was inaugurated  by Dean Dr. Usha Radke and Vice Dean Dr. S R Shenoi of VSPM DCRC by lighting the lamp followed by garlanding the portrait of G.B Shankwalkar . Later, Dean and Vice Dean addressed the gathering and shared their valuable thoughts on Oral Hygiene maintenance and its importance in our daily life. Afterwards Dr. Dhawal Mody, Reader Department of Periodontics and Implantology, VSPM DCRC delivered a scientific lecture on ‘Current opinion in Biofilm Management: Redefining Prevention, Redesigning lifestyle.’

The program concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Vrushali Lathiya. At the end of the program Certificate of Appreciation and Listerine mouthwash free samples were distributed amongst the audience, followed by a group photograph.
