Admission 2024-25On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, the department of Oral Medicine and Radiology,VSPM’S Dental college, had organized a Guest lecture on ‘Tobacco Deaddiction – A Psychological approach’ by an eminent psychiatrist Dr.Rajesh Rathi. Dr.Mukta Motwani, the head of the department, welcomed the speaker, followed by a brief speech on Tobacco deaddiction by Dr.Usha Radke ,Dean of the institute.
Dr.Rathi explained in detail the hazards of consuming tobacco in any form and its use in counselling the patient to quit the habit. He also emphasized on the role of personal attention to every patient to assess the level of motivation which would lead to systematic counseling. The lecture received an overwhelming response from the staff members, post graduate students and Interns who attended the program in large numbers. The session was very interactive and the audience was appreciative of the programme.
The programme was planned and executed by Dr. Mukta Motwani with her team of staff members which included Dr.Apeksha Balpande, Dr.Tapasya Karemore, Dr.Anurag Choudhary, Dr.Smriti Golhar and Dr. Apurva Mohite. All the departmental post graduate students also contributed to the success of the programme.
