World No Tobacco Day

The department of Oral pathology in collaboration with Department of Public Health Department of VSPM dental college & research centre, Nagpur has celebrated ‘World No Tobacco Day’ on 31^st May 2018. As part of the celebration, there was a formal inauguration of the Tobacco related exhibition by the Dean, Dr. Usha M.Radke. The objective of the exhibition was to create awareness about the ill effects of Tobacco among the patients visiting the institution. This was followed by deliberation of series of lectures on ‘Hazards of Tobacco’ for the non-teaching employees of VSPM Academy of higher education of the campus. The lectures were engaged by our enthusiastic faculty members namely Dr.Neena Dongre, Dr.Rohit Moharil and Dr.Stuti Bhargava on the topics enitled Hazards of Tobacco, Self oral examination and Tobacco Deaddiction respectively. At the end of the lectures, there was a deaddiction oath pronounced by Dr.Sushil naik with the participants to follow. There was also a slide show organized by the department of Oral and Maxillofacial surgeryon ill effects of tobacco at NPK salve institute of medical sciences, LMH campus Nagpur to create awareness among the patients.  The programme was supervised by Dr.Alka Dive, Professor & Head, Department of Oral Pathology, Dr.K.Venugopal Reddy, Professor & Head, Department of  Public Health Dentistry under the guidance of the Dean Dr. Usha M.Radke and Vice-Dean, Dr.R. K.Shenoi. There was also active contribution from the staff members of the department of oral pathology, department of public health dentistry and other faculty members of the institution. The programme was a success with the voluntary participation from non-teaching employees with a definite take home message.
