Lecture by Prof Deshpande on Swami Vivekananda on National Youth Day
On the occasion of National youth Day DET Unit VSPMDCRC organized a lecture on Swami Vivekananda and his leadership skills for dental students. Prof Deshpande (HOD Mechanical engineering VNIT, Nagpur, Active member Swami Vivekananda Mission) elaborated on various qualities that can contribute for becoming successful leader in our own life.
Communication Skills CME
Communication skills are very important for the successful functioning of any organization. Timely training of all workforce is therefore important. Keeping this in mind, the DET unit organized a CDE on communications skills training in which there were lectures by Dr. Jayashree Joshi, Dr. Tapasya Karemore and Dr. Swapnil Patil coupled with role-plays and demonstrations. The CDE was for non-teaching staff members of VSPMDCRC.
Resident as a Teacher Workshop 2016
Continuing with the tradition of conducting RAT workshop for PGs, in the year 2016 RAT workshop was blessed by the presence of Dr. Deelip Mhaisekar (VC – MUHS ) and Dr. Amol Deshmukh (Secretary VAHE). The VC addressed the participants and faculties and expressed satisfaction with the progress of the DET unit. He distributed the certificates of participation as well. Dean Dr. Usha Radke & Vice Dean Dr. S R Shenoi also graced the occasion.
Basic HSET Workshop
For training the newly joined staff members and also as a refresher course for those staff who were trained more than 5 years ago, DET Unit conducted Basic Teachers Training Workshop on 29,30 June-1July 2016. 24 faculties from various departments participated in the event. All DET Unit members conducted the sessions on different teaching techniques.
Innovative Teaching Techniques Workshop
This workshop was organized to update all staff members regarding the latest techniques in teaching.
Dr. Saee Deshpande spoke on computer-assisted learning and Dr. Aashish Bodhade covered Problem based learning. The audience feedback was positive as many departments expressed their willingness to implement these in routine practice.
