A lecture on topic – ‘Effective use of MOODLE for teaching & assessment’ by Mr. Himanshu Subramanium (whiz softwares) on 19 th June 2024. Dr. Usha Shenoy Co-ordinator HSET unit felicitated the speaker and reiterated the commitment of the institute to deploy latest technology in dental education in current scenario. All teaching staff were participated in the workshop.

Event – Experiential learning
Speaker – Dr. Gita Negi Date – 13th June 2024
The lecture on ‘experiential learning’ was arranged on 13June 2024 as a part of faculty development program by HSET unit. The guest speaker for this event was Dr Gita Negi, Prof. and HOD, Dept of Transfusion medicine and blood bank, AIIMS Rishikesh. The speaker introduced the topic by explaining the type of learners in health profession, role of teachers for these kinds of learners and need of experiential learning in this new era. She further discussed about steps of experiential learning, importance of reflection by students with various examples. The innovative methods that can be considered under umbrella of experiential learning were also shared by her. Speaker concluded the lecture with benefits and risks of experiential learning as well as need of such T-L method in the institutions. 45 participants, teaching faculty and postgraduates, attended this online lecture via google meet. The queries of participants were nicely addressed at the end of lecture by the speaker. Dr Mukta Motwani, Vice Dean was moderator for this event, appreciated the speaker for content and delivery of the topic. The speaker and moderator were awarded with certificate by chairperson HSET unit, Dr Usha Shenoy, virtually. Dean, Dr Kolte appreciated the HSET unit for efforts and execution of this event. Dr Tapasya Karemore, Reader, dept of OMR was coordinator for this program.

HSET unit of Ranjeet Deshmukh Dental College and Research Centre, Nagpur has organized lecture on Reflective Learning: What, How, Who and When? on 22nd December 2023 by Dr. Varsha Sunil Manekar, Associate Professor, OMFS of Government Dental college & Hospital, Nagpur for faculty and post graduate students of Ranjeet Deshmukh Dental College and Research Centre, Nagpur. After opening remarks of Dr. Usha Shenoy, co-ordinator, HSET Unit programme began. Dr. Varsha has discussed need of Reflective Learning. She elaborated the techniques and also shared her experiences while performing this innovative method. Dr. Chetana Makade, Associate Professor, Department of Endodontics and Conservative and Dr. Prabhat Singh, Senior Lecturer, Department of Pedodontics co-ordinated the event. Dr. Apeksha Dhole, Professor, Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology moderated the session. Dr. Swapnil Patil, Lecturer, Department of Public Health of Dentistry gave vote of thanks. The innovative initiative by HSET was well appreciated by all faculties and PG’s.

HSET unit of Ranjeet Deshmukh Dental College and Research Centre, Nagpur has organized Resident as a Teacher (RAT) Workshop on 9th and 10th January 2024 for the Second Year Post Graduate Students of the College. Introductory remarks were given by Dr. Usha Shenoy, co-ordinator, HSET Unit RD DC & RC, Nagpur. She elaborated the application of RAT workshop in the dental education and its importance in the teaching and learning process. Program was inaugurated by Dr. Abhay Kolte, Dean, Chairperson HSET, Dr. Rohit Moharil & Dr. Ananya Hazarey has coordinated the event. All the members of HSET Team delivered the various lectures on the topic of Education technology. Team HSET under the leadership of Dr. Usha Shenoy, Coordinator HSET, worked hard for the success of the program. All the post graduate students gave satisfactory feedback of the workshop.
